
An Air India flight from Mumbai to New York had to return to Mumbai on Monday morning after a bomb threat was found on board.
The flight, AI119, was carrying 322 people, including 19 crew members. A note with a bomb threat was found in one of the plane’s lavatories, according to sources.
The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300 ER, landed safely back in Mumbai at 10:25 AM (local time). Security agencies are checking the plane, and Air India is cooperating with the authorities.
The airline has rescheduled the flight for 5 AM on March 11. Passengers have been given hotel accommodation, meals, and other help until their new flight.
