283 Indians Rescued from Fake Job Scam in Myanmar

The Indian government has rescued and brought back 283 Indian citizens who were trapped in a fake job scam in Myanmar. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed this on Tuesday.

These people were tricked with false job offers and later forced into cybercrime and fraud in areas near the Myanmar-Thailand border. The rescue operation was done with the help of Indian embassies in Myanmar and Thailand, working closely with local authorities.

The rescued individuals were flown back to India on an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft from Mae Sot, Thailand.

The MEA has once again warned Indian citizens to be careful while accepting job offers from foreign employers. It advised people to verify companies and recruitment agents before taking up jobs abroad.
