Today, the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation launched a novel initiative to educate those who trash in public areas throughout the city. A drum will now be beaten at the door to remind anyone caught littering of the consequences. Litterers will also receive challans (fines) in addition to verification by the Area Inspector.

Residents have been asked to share pictures of trash on the Municipal Corporation app in order to keep the city tidy.

A loud, public “honor” was given to two families in Mani Majra on Monday when Chandigarh Municipal Corporation members appeared outside their homes with drums and bugles. This was not a celebration; rather, the goal was to give each family a ₹13,401 challan and return the rubbish they had left in a public space.

Lathi Charge: Farmers broke barricades and entered Chandigarh from Mohali; Rajewal asked, “Why is Haryana Police in Punjab?”

When the demonstrators broke over the barricades, Chandigarh’s SSP Kawardeep Kaur, who had gone to the entrance to stop them, ordered a Lathi Charge.

Students at Punjab University in Chandigarh are furious and demand that the date of senior selection be announced. Every route that connects the border between Chandigarh and Mohali has been closed. Parents who pick up their kids from school are often stuck as a result.

After pushing and shoving with the police, students smashed through Gate Number 1 in front of PGI. The students continued notwithstanding the presence of SSP Kawardeep Kaur from Chandigarh. The demonstrators who had breached the barricade were then subject to a Lathi Charge by the police.

The students had already gained entry by breaking through the same gate. They got into a fight with the police during this period. But now Gate Number 1 is fully operational. Nihang Sikhs are among the students and demonstrators entering the university from this location.

At Phase 6, the Mohali-Chandigarh boundary, farmers have broken through the police wall. They are currently moving towards Chandigarh from Panjab University’s (PU) side. At first, the cops made an unsuccessful attempt to halt them. Balvir Rajewal, a farmer leader, questioned the purpose of the Haryana Police’s presence in Mohali.

The police have set up a barricade at YPS Chowk in Mohali to impede access to Chandigarh. The police have sealed the area from all four sides because they believe there may be a jam there.

Even a judge’s vehicle was prevented from entering Chandigarh by the Mohali police. When the driver of the automobile got out and claimed that the vehicle belonged to a judge, the Chandigarh Police did not permit it. The driver then drove the vehicle back.

The supporters were told to stop where they were when they saw the police arrangements, but they began a sit-in instead. On Sunday night, the students caused a commotion and persisted in their sit-in protest at the campus entrance until late at night. The university has announced a two-day holiday for today (November 10) and tomorrow in response to the student protest. In support of the students’ demand, farmers and numerous political parties are participating in the demonstration.

BREAKING: DIG Bhullar Case: Middleman Krishnu on 9-Day CBI Remand; Diary and Mobile Chat Found in Probe Will Reveal Secrets.

In the DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar case, the CBI Court placed middleman Krishnu under nine days of CBI remand. The CBI team’s application was the subject of a hearing this morning. The accused Krishnu’s attorney objected to the government attorney’s request for the accused’s remand.

Krishnu, the accused middleman who was imprisoned, appeared in court in Chandigarh this morning. The accused was a key player in the case, the government attorney told the court. During the investigation, the CBI discovered a diary and a number of important pieces of evidence.

What took place in court?
The CBI claimed that there is substantial evidence in the chats and that it has recovered roughly 100 GB of material that still has to be recovered. They must also question Krishnu about his relationships and connections with different people.

They therefore requested a 12-day remand. Krishnu is a national hockey player, according to Krishnu’s attorney Gurbir Singh Sandhu, who opposed this. He is well-known among lawmakers and the police force. He went on to say that the mobile number has nothing to do with this case and is his own. Additionally, he stated that neither the retrieved bribe money nor any extra rupees were discovered with him. The judge postponed the order until after 1:00 PM after hearing arguments from both parties.

36-Year-Old Colony Demolished in Chandigarh; Bulldozer Runs Over 450 Houses in 2 Hours; 4 Houses Marked with a Cross Spared, Administration Says – Will Develop the Land.

The SSP was instructed by the District Administration to send 200 police officers, four DSPs, and female constables to the scene of the incident. The Health Department was told to send out four ambulances to the location. According to the authorities, the area will now be developed following the destruction of the colonies.

In Shahpur Colony in Chandigarh, CB is demolishing homes and causing protests. Cross-marked homes were spared demolition.

The 36-year-old Shahpur residential complex in Sector-38 West was the subject of action by the Chandigarh Administration. When a large police and administrative team arrived on the scene on Tuesday morning, they demolished the colony’s homes. The majority of the houses had been reduced to a heap of stone, brick, and sand by 8:30 AM.

Nearly 450 of the colony’s homes were affected. Four homes, nevertheless, whose occupants had been granted a judicial stay, were spared demolition. To help the bulldozer operators know not to destroy the dwellings, a cross mark had already been placed on them. The administration’s action has also caused dissatisfaction among the populace.

The majority of these individuals are immigrants. It is said that during the holiday season, the behaviour is improper. They have been defrauded by the administration. Where will they take their family now?

Nothing was received despite the survey:According to Pramod, one of the colony’s residents, his house was located here. He has spent years residing here. In 2006, the survey was completed by him. They have four votes that have been cast from Sector-42 throughout the past four years. He claimed that here is also where his father passed away. The house has now been destroyed.

Having to fend for himself: Sanjay claimed to have lived here for 22 years. He will now have to either find a place to rent or go it alone. He responded, “We didn’t ask for those things from the administration; we don’t have them,” when asked if his name was on the survey.

People were given notice in advance.

Around two weeks prior to the event, the notice was plastered on the shanties and announced around the colony by the Estate Office’s Enforcement Wing to the rhythm of a drum. Residents had received a warning from the administration to leave the colony by September 30. After then, today’s activity was taken.

A written directive was given by DC Nishant Yadav following the meeting at the UT Secretariat. 200 workers, 10 trucks, and 4 JCBs arrived at the location under this. The operation was turned over to the Chief Engineer. There were also JEs and SDMs.

For security, 200 police officers were sent in.

The SSP was instructed by the District Administration to send 200 police officers, four DSPs, and female constables to the scene of the incident. The Health Department was told to send out four ambulances to the location. According to the authorities, the area will now be developed following the destruction of the colonies.

Member of Parliament Malvinder Kang Visits Kharar Mandi and Tehsil Office

Directs officials to ensure smooth facilitation for farmers and public

Sept. 26, Kharar (SAS Nagar):
S. Malvinder Singh Kang, a member of parliament from Sri Anandpur Sahib, made an unexpected visit to the local Tehsil office and Grain Market today to examine procurement procedures and evaluate revenue-related services offered to citizens.

The MP oversaw the arrival and purchase of paddy at the Grain Market and gave procurement agencies instructions to make sure that farmers and Arhtiyas would not encounter any difficulties during the current season. He recalled that the Centre Government’s lack of collaboration had caused some problems the previous year. But this year, he added, procurement activities have been advanced to give farmers enough time to harvest and sell their produce, even though the state is simultaneously concentrating on flood assistance and recovery.

He stressed that in accordance with the Bhagwant Singh Mann Government’s pledge, paddy will be bought continuously, with payments made on time, and stocks lifted. In order to maintain a seamless and open procedure, he gave officials proactive instructions.

Later, MP Kang went to the Kharar Tehsil complex to examine how the Tehsildar Office, Sub Registrar Office, and Sewa Kendra were operating. He praised the Mohali district’s “Easy Registry” effort, which made deed registration easier, and instructed Sub Registrars to make sure that all residents quickly benefited from it. He emphasised that the public should not be inconvenienced by the timely completion of paperwork and related procedures.

Additionally, the MP promised to use monies from the MP LAD plan to upgrade public amenities like drinking water and chairs in the Tehsil complex, if necessary.

Chandigarh Airport to not have late flights in the winter season: Landing in 750 feet visibility, the international airport’s ILS system was upgraded and imported from Korea.

Flights from Chandigarh, which are frequently impacted by fog and mist throughout the winter, will now depart on schedule. Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport’s Instrument Landing System (ILS) Cat-2 has been improved in order to accomplish this. In order to do this, the airport authority has placed an order for the necessary equipment from Korea.

According to Ajay Verma, CEO of Chandigarh International Airport, the installation procedure will be finished in four to five months. Runway-29 at the airport now has a Cat-2 ILS, which prevents landings in visibility below 1200 feet. Following the improvement, Runway-11 will have a new system that will enable landing with visibility of up to 750 feet.

In December and January, visibility frequently falls below 1000 feet, which results in aircraft cancellations or delays. Airlines and the airport authority suffer significant losses as a result. The approximate cost of this renovation is two crore rupees. According to airport officials, installing a Cat-3 ILS is prohibited since Chandigarh is an Air Force installation. For security considerations, the Air Force has not authorized this device, which enables planes to land even when visibility is zero. As a result, the update is limited to the Cat-2.

Additionally, the airport now has more Smart Visual Docking Guidance Systems (SVDGS). There are now fifteen systems instead of the prior five. These systems use high-resolution cameras and sensors to help the airplane park accurately. A marshal won’t be needed to direct the aircraft into the parking bay as a result.

According to CEO Ajay Verma, aircraft will be able to land in 750 feet of visibility thanks to Runway-11’s updated ILS. Additionally, safety and efficiency will be enhanced by the rise in SVDGs.

‘Waris Punjab De’ also distanced itself from the vice presidential election: Amritpal is in jail and will not vote, Sarabjit says—flood victims are our priority.

The list of people who have abstained from the nation’s vice presidential election now includes “Waris Punjab De.” This group has made the same decision as Shiromani Akali Dal to abstain from voting. Sarabjit Singh Khalsa, an MP from Faridkot, and Amritpal Singh, an MP from Khadoor Sahib, have declared that they will not vote in the election.

In a post on X, Sarabjit Singh stated that he will not be voting because his first priority right now is aiding the flood victims. Amritpal Singh, a pro-Khalistan MP, is incarcerated at Dibrugarh Jail at the same time.

The orders were placed approximately eight days ago.

Amritpal Singh was granted permission to vote in the vice presidential race by the race commission approximately eight days ago. To guarantee voting facilities, the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Government of Assam, as well as the Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab, were directed.

In order for Amritpal Singh’s completed postal ballot to reach the Chief Election Officer by 6 PM on September 9, 2025, the panel additionally recommended that it be sent by air via a special messenger. The concerned officials were directed to set up this work right away and give the commission all the information they knew.

The struggle for the freedom of our country

“We must honor the martyrs of the 1984 movement! The gallant Khalistani warriors who battled for the liberation of Punjab and the Khalsa Panth in 1984 are commemorated today for the 38th time. Let’s honor them and the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for Punjab’s independence since 1947. To grant freedom to the hearts of the Sikh community and the entire Khalsa Panth, they have sacrificed their lives.

For the Sikh community’s freedom and the preservation of its language, culture, and customs, they have given their lives. We ought to carry on the struggle for freedom in remembrance of their sacrifice. For the Khalsa Panth and all of Punjab, their fight is the real route to independence. We have to keep fighting.”

“Our ancestors fought, we are fighting, and our coming generations will fight for our country’s freedom.”

The voting process has begun.

This evening, the nation will elect a new vice president. The parliamentary election process has begun. V. Radhakrishnan, 68, is the NDA’s nominee, while B. Sudarshan Reddy, 79, is the India Alliance’s. Voting will begin at 5 p.m., and counting will begin at 6 p.m. First to vote was Prime Minister Modi. He then departed for a tour of the regions hit by the floods.

Akali Dal has declined to cast a ballot, blaming the floods in Punjab, while BRS and BJD have disassociated themselves from the poll. The YSRCP backs the NDA candidate, whereas AIMIM backs the India Alliance candidate. Jagdeep Dhankhar, who resigned due to health concerns, will be replaced by the next vice president. The numbers indicate that NDA candidate Radhakrishnan is expected to win, while cross-voting in secret ballot voting may alter the outcome.
