On Thursday morning, travelers encountered significant challenges at the airports in Chandigarh and Amritsar. Flight operations were severely impacted by a technical issue with the check-in system, which resulted in multiple planes departing hours later than planned.

IndiGo Airlines flights were negatively impacted by the problem. Nearly seven flights that were supposed to depart from Chandigarh were delayed by this technical issue by 11 AM, which caused chaos at the airport.

These Flights Were Delayed from Chandigarh
Due to the system breakdown, the schedule of planes departing from Chandigarh Airport for several cities was completely disrupted:

Mumbai: The flight scheduled for 5:15 AM departed at 8:05 AM.

Delhi: The 5:20 AM flight was cleared for take-off at 8:20 AM.

Hyderabad: The 6:25 AM flight departed at 9:15 AM.

Bengaluru: The 8:00 AM flight was able to take off at 9:55 AM.

Others: Additionally, flights bound for Lucknow, Patna, and Jaipur also took off later than their scheduled times.

Amritsar also ceased operations.
At Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar, the situation was comparable. Due to technical issues, a number of IndiGo flights here also failed to take off. Two planes on the Delhi route (6E5215 and 6E2506) and the flight from Amritsar to Mumbai (6E278) were unable to take off on time.

The flight to Pune was delayed by five hours.
Passengers’ problems didn’t stop there. The Amritsar-Srinagar flight (6E6164) could not depart, requiring passengers to make alternative arrangements. Furthermore, the aircraft from Amritsar to Pune (6E6129), which was scheduled to travel at 11:50 PM, departed around 4:56 AM following a lengthy delay. Passengers were forced to wait at the airport all night during this period.

On Wednesday, Central University of Punjab (CUP) opened its community radio station, “CU Punjab Radio 89.6 FM,” creating a powerful new platform for community development, empowerment, and education that would directly link the university with the general public.

In the special presence of AICTE Chairman Prof. T. G. Sitharam, the Honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra Prasad Tiwari launched the Community Radio Station at the University Campus in Ghudda village, Bathinda district.

The nearby villages and communities will have access to relevant, educational, and motivational programming thanks to the Community Radio broadcast, which will be audible across a radius of around 10 kilometers. The station will transmit for four hours every day, Monday to Friday—from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Transforming Step Towards Social Awareness
This program is a revolutionary step toward inclusive education and societal consciousness, according to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra Prasad Tiwari. He claimed that community radio is a medium that reaches those places where other media cannot, and it plays a significant role in promoting and developing education among the population. He further noted that this radio will substantially contribute to promoting awareness on societal concerns, including narcotics, corruption, and mental health, as well as informational preparation and awareness surrounding catastrophe management.

A Link Between Society and Knowledge
AICTE Chairman Prof. T. G. Sitharam hailed this significant communication platform developed by the University, noting that CU Punjab Radio will prove to be an efficient platform for enhancing the standard of living of the people of Bathinda district. He emphasized that this station is not merely a broadcasting medium but a bridge between knowledge and society, the voice of social responsibility, and a critical means of community empowerment, capable of transforming right information into inspiration and growth. Prof. Tiwari and Prof. Sitharam expressed optimism that the waves of CU Punjab Radio 89.6 FM will strongly promote education, empowerment, awareness, and public participation throughout the region.

According to Mr. Robin Jindal, Nodal Officer, and Dr. Rubal Kanojia, Director of CU Punjab Radio, this community radio would give people a free opportunity to express themselves, show off their skills, and talk about current social issues. Additionally, they stated that in addition to educational content, the radio will feature Punjabi culture, folk music, folk arts, inspirational tales, and community achievements.

A new twist in the matter of allocating space to Haryana for a new Assembly in Chandigarh… Tirchhi Nazar.

According to reports, the Modi government’s Ministry of Home Affairs has recommended the chief minister of Haryana not to press for a separate Legislative Assembly in Chandigarh.
Haryana’s plea was previously denied by the Chandigarh Administration for technical reasons, but it now seems that Delhi’s political establishment has also sent a strong message.
The Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections in 2027 appear to be the fundamental cause.

Given that it is already under fire over the Panjab University Senate problem and the ongoing discussion about Chandigarh’s status, the BJP leadership probably does not want any new political crisis at this time. Nayab Singh Saini, the chief minister of Haryana, is also anticipated to become more involved in politics in Punjab and might be a prominent campaigner in the Assembly elections.

If the center has indeed chosen not to make space for a new assembly facility, it is a good thing. It is crucial to keep in mind that the original land distribution to Haryana was personally approved by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
In the meantime, it’s still uncertain what the BJP will do in Punjab, especially for the 2027 elections. It’s unclear if the party will run on its own or in coalition with the Shiromani Akali Dal or a different party faction. There are still conflicting statements coming from different leaders, and the situation is still very unclear.
Another concern is whether the central government, which is run by the BJP, will take significant action to rectify the injustices that Punjab has previously experienced.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s current program falls under the Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) initiative. Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisions a Developed India (Viksit Bharat) by 2047, and “Local for Vocal” is the route to this goal.

Moving things along, the party has started this full campaign. Today, party employees and ministers, MPs, and MLAs are distributing letters at different train stations, including Chandigarh Railway Station, to highlight the importance of Modi’s campaign and the resolution of self-reliance (Swadeshi Sankalp).

This letter contains some suggestions that tourists should read when traveling. Because time is completely scarce in the fast-paced world of today. A person is free to sit and think or talk about anything while traveling by train.

This letter is being sent to everyone who will be traveling by rail today as part of Narendra Modi’s resolution drive for Atmanirbhar Bharat. As everyone is aware, Narendra Modi’s goal of turning India into a developed nation by 2047 will come true.

Narendra Modi has greatly enhanced road and rail connectivity today.

The Modi government has done the work; the Congress used to only talk.

For seventy years, the Congress party did nothing.

Narendra Modi is responsible for the building of the five-star hotel-style railway station in Chandigarh.

Through the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan (Self-Reliant India Resolution Campaign), we are fortifying our nation.

The Union Railway Minister has come to Mohali to take part in an event.

I’m depressed. After discussing an event with my family, I’ve ordered a thorough investigation to determine who installed it and when. Along with financial support, action will be taken against the relevant officials.

Gold, silver, and bronze medals have been returned by our athletes. I applaud and cheer when Punjabi players win. But doing politics on these issues is wrong.

Bhagwant Mann and Kejriwal had promised to eliminate drugs in Punjab within a month, but they did not fulfill any promise.

When I went to the Punjab by-elections, the older folks there told me that they only wanted to protect their kids from drugs and didn’t want work.

Bhagwant Mann is alright till five in the morning, but after dark, he doesn’t know anything, which suggests he is inebriated or incompetent.

Bhagwant Mann’s visit to Haryana and his excellent speech are commendable; however, he ought to attend to Punjab first. Bhagwant Mann ought to examine his own behavior in relation to the athlete who was shot and killed on the field.

Congress and Kejriwal have conspired. They resemble one another’s paternal and maternal relations (“Maasi-Phoophad,” signifying intimate association/conspiracy).

In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party’s cheap politics are worse than the Congress’s.

Neither the Congress nor the Aam Aadmi Party has made any effort for the Sikh community.

For the train station, a modular design is being developed.

Both areas of the city are connected by the Chandigarh Railway Station.

The construction of this station has cost ₹462 crore (four hundred and sixty-two crore rupees).

The construction of this railway station will take five years, yet work is moving rather quickly.

Chandigarh, November 18, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann made a strong case for Punjab’s position on water, Panjab University (PU), and Chandigarh during the Northern Zonal Council meeting presided over by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In a “direct reply” to the neighbors, Chief Minister Mann declared that “PU and Chandigarh are our right” and that “we do not have a single extra drop of water.”

“Not a Single Extra Drop of Water”
Eleven of the 28 topics mentioned at the meeting, according to the Chief Minister, were unique to Punjab. He said, “All 11 issues were related to Punjab, on which I presented Punjab’s stance.” The Home Minister was informed by Chief Minister Mann that “we do not have a single extra drop of water to give to anyone.”

“Direct Reply” on Chandigarh and PU
In addition to water, CM Mann provided a “direct reply” on Chandigarh and Panjab University. He made it quite clear that Punjab has a right over both PU and Chandigarh and that they are “ours” (belong to Punjab).
