Two important highways are being repaired by MLA Kulwant Singh: Kharar-Banur Road to Tangauri-Kurara-Bari Road and Chappar Chiri Kalan to Chappar Chiri Khurd Road.

claims that problems with road connectivity will be automatically fixed once the 14 main roads in the constituency are finished.

We appreciate Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s specific focus on SAS Nagar.

guarantees that the pledge to give women ₹1100 a month would soon be realised.

October 1, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar:

The Chappar Chiri Kalan to Chappar Chiri Khurd Road and the Kharar-Banur Road to Tangauri-Kurara-Bari Road are two significant roads in the SAS Nagar (Mohali) constituency that MLA Kulwant Singh officially opened for repair and improvement on Wednesday. He said that at a cost of ₹10 crore, the first phase’s repair and strengthening of 14 major roads that need urgent care has been approved, and work on two of these roads has started today.

The Kharar-Banur Road and the Tangauri-Kurara-Bari Road are connected by the first road project, which was officially opened today. It is 5.57 kilometres long and 18 feet wide. The last time this section was fixed was in October 2016. It is now being built for ₹2.06 crore, with an extra ₹27 lakh for maintenance over the next five years. Among these, one kilometer will be built using 80 mm paver blocks, while the remainder will be bitumen (asphalt). York Builders Private Limited, Zirakpur, has been given the project, which should be finished in six months.

The second project is the 2.05-kilometre Chappar Chiri Kalan to Chappar Chiri Khurd Road. The road will now be 22 feet wide instead of the previous 18 feet. At a cost of ₹3.70 crore, it is currently undergoing reconstruction after being last fixed in March 2018. 80 MM paver blocks will be used to build the entire road, and the project is expected to be finished in four months. The Shri Ganesh structure in Moga has been given the task of completing the structure.

Addressing the gathering of villagers, including women, he assured them that the promise made by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to give ₹1100 per month to women as a mark of respect will be implemented soon. He said this would be the final election promise to be fulfilled by the state government, proving that every promise made to the people of Punjab before coming to power is being honoured.

He also appealed to the villagers to complete any work related to laying pipes or road cutting beneath the road before the construction begins, as damaging the newly built roads later would cause heavy loss to the public exchequer.

Vigilance Bureau apprehends ASI red-handed taking Rs 30,000 bribe.

Chandigarh September 29, 2025 –
As part of its efforts to combat corruption in the state, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) detained Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Baljinder Singh on Monday as he was receiving a Rs 30,000 bribe. Singh was assigned as an Investigating Officer at Police Station Lalru in the district of SAS Nagar.
The aforementioned police officers were detained in response to a complaint filed by a resident of the village of Channa Gulab Singh Wala, district Bathinda, who is currently residing in Gillco Valley, Kharar, in SAS Nagar district, according to a state VB official spokeswoman who made the announcement today.
He went on to say that the complainant had come to the VB with a complaint alleging that ASI had asked a bribe of Rs 1,30,000 from him while looking into a case that had been filed against him at the Lalru police station under sections 406 and 420 of the IPC. The bribe was demanded in exchange for undue favours in the investigation, which included releasing the complainant’s car that the accused officer had taken into possession of but that was not listed on the record, conducting a lenient investigation going forward, and avoiding recovery of the Rs 10,00,000 that had been stolen during police remand.
The accused had expressly requested that the first instalment of Rs 30,000 be paid right away out of the entire demand. To substantiate his claims, the complainant taped the accused’s demand and provided it to the VB.

According to the spokeswoman, the VB Flying Squad organised a trap squad and filed a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act in response to the complaint.
He went on to say that the complainant arrived in his private vehicle at Punjabi Vaishno Dhaba, located on the National Highway in Lalru, after the accused ASI contacted him to meet him in accordance with the arrangement. When the accused accepted the Rs 30,000 bribe from the complainant in front of two official witnesses, the trap team captured him red-handed. He stated that the case is currently being investigated further.

In addition to giving the athletes the equipment they need, he said, social groups, village panchayats, and sports organisations should be commended for offering them chances. Pritpal Phagwara and Sikandar Sheikh engaged in a tough battle for the Rs 5 lakh main prize at the wrestling event held in the village of Gigemajra, with Sikandar Sheikh emerging victorious.

Civil Surgeon Appeals to District Residents for Dengue Prevention

Don’t let water stagnate anywhere in or around your home.

Investigation and awareness campaign underway on a war footing in the district.

September 29, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar: The public has been urged once more by the District Health Department to wear clothing that completely covers their body and to keep water from collecting in and around their homes.

Dr. Sangeeta Jain, a civil surgeon, and Dr. Anamika Soni, a district epidemiologist, said that everyone should be informed of the dangers of dengue fever and take preventative measures. The district can only become dengue-free with the public’s assistance, the Civil Surgeon said, urging the district’s citizens to cooperate in avoiding dengue. She said that although the District Health Department is making every effort to prevent dengue, the public must also help the department in its efforts. The public can call the Health Department’s helpline at 104 if they need any information.

If someone has dengue fever, there’s no need to freak out, according to the officials. The patient ought to be taken to a government medical centre that offers free dengue testing and care. They pointed out that during any kind of fever, the body’s platelet count usually drops. Coconut water, kiwi fruit, or goat’s milk aren’t particularly beneficial for boosting platelets. In addition to getting plenty of rest, patients should drink a lot of water, juice, lemonade, and coconut water. It is also good for a healthy person to drink at least two litres of water every day. In addition to keeping the body hydrated, fluids give it vital nutrients.

According to health experts, the District Health Department personnel are working tirelessly to prevent the spread of this disease and safeguard people from it. These teams are investigating in additional regions and high-risk areas. According to them, every health block in the district is conducting the investigation and awareness campaign in the cities and villages on a war footing.

Fever symptoms caused by dengue Aedes aegypti mosquito bites can result in dengue disease. significant headache and fever, joint and muscle discomfort, pain behind the eyes, significant bleeding from the mouth, nose, and gums, and nausea and vomiting are all common signs of dengue. In locations such as coolers, water tanks, flower pots, trays behind refrigerators, broken pots, abandoned empty tires, and water drums, mosquitoes that transmit dengue grow in stagnant, clean water. There should be no standing water in these areas.
