A sweets store owned by Arun Dutta in the Civil Line neighborhood, close to Jahaj Chowk, has been the scene of a heist. The crime was committed by two bikers.

Two bikers arrived at the scene with their faces covered, according to Arun Dutta. While one of them remained outside on the motorcycle, the other went into his shop and put a pistol to his temple.

At first, Arun Dutta believed that a friend was making fun of him. But when the young man threatened to “take out whatever you have, or I will shoot,” he became frightened. In a matter of seconds, the young man himself unlocked the store’s cash register, gathered all the money inside, pocketed it, and ran away.

He claimed that his total profits for the day—roughly ₹10,000—were in the cash register. He said that the robbery has been reported to the police.

He expressed surprise that these young people were able to carry out such a crime with a pistol in such a fancy location, where the homes of judges and police officers are only a short distance away at Panchayat Bhawan Chowk, and that no one was there to stop them.

A stalled car was struck and pulled for a long distance by a tractor-trolley approaching from the opposite direction near the new bus terminus in Gurdaspur. Thankfully, no one was killed, but the vehicle sustained serious damage. Because the trolley driver’s eyes were closing, the car’s occupants claimed he was under the influence of alcohol.

The woman operating the vehicle described how they were waiting for a relative when their automobile was violently struck by a trolley approaching from the incorrect side and pulled for a considerable distance. The woman claimed that the truck driver’s eyes were shutting, giving the impression that he had ingested alcohol. The location was crowded with people. Road Safety Force personnel also promptly responded and managed the issue. Fortunately, neither property nor lives were lost.

A former soldier shot and killed his wife and mother-in-law in Khuthi village, which is within the jurisdiction of the Dorangla police station, around three in the morning. Bir Singh, the accused, later killed himself by shooting himself. At the time, Bir Singh was employed by PESCO as a guard at the Central Jail in Gurdaspur. Bir Singh fled and took refuge in his flat in Scheme No. 7 of the City Improvement Trust, Gurdaspur, after murdering his mother-in-law, Gurjeet Kaur, 55, and wife, Akwinder Kaur, 32.

Arriving at the spot with a police team, SSP Gurdaspur Aditya encircled Bir Singh’s hiding place and demanded that he turn himself in. Bir Singh killed himself during this period by shooting himself in the head with an AK-47 rifle. According to the SSP, Bir Singh and his wife had been at odds for a while, and the case was in court. Akwinder Kaur, Bir Singh’s wife, had been residing in Khuthi village with her mother for a long time. The provenance of the AK-47 rifle he had is being investigated.

Daughter-in-law brutally beat up old mother-in-law in Gurdaspur: Dragged her by the hair, threw her on the sofa, hit her with a steel glass and slapped her; grandson stood by making a VIDEO.

In Gurdaspur, Punjab, a daughter-in-law viciously assaulted her elderly mother-in-law. She grabbed the mother-in-law’s hair and pulled her along. She struck her with a piece of steel. She gave the mother-in-law another slap on the cheek as she began to breathe heavily.

The elderly woman’s grandson was standing there during all of this, filming the entire event. He didn’t try to stop his mother from hitting, even though he was telling her not to. This video has gained a lot of popularity. The police have also been notified of the situation. However, the alleged daughter-in-law and grandson have not yet been charged.

The mother-in-law is being pulled by her hair by the daughter-in-law. The daughter-in-law grabs her hair with the other hand and pulls when the mother-in-law catches one of her hands. According to the daughter-in-law, “You bit me.”

The mother-in-law then accuses her of beating her daughter-in-law’s husband, her son. The mother-in-law’s grandson, the son of the beaten woman, approaches and tells her to go. Following this, the mother-in-law displays the reportedly bitten eye.

After claiming that she had bitten her with her fangs, the daughter-in-law yells, “You bit me, you dog.” The mother-in-law may be observed moaning during this. She is frequently threatened by the daughter-in-law, who states, “You are a dog.”

As she is being pulled, the mother-in-law can be seen gasping. The daughter-in-law stands up, grabs the mother-in-law’s neck with both hands, pushes her back, and then begins striking her with the steel glass.

After striking her twice more with the glass, she repeats, “You are a dog.” It looks like the mother-in-law is powerless. The grandchild who is filming tells his mother to stop during this. She then hurls the glass down in a fit of wrath.

Following a brief fight, the mother-in-law is lifted once more by the daughter-in-law, who then pushes her and throws her onto the couch. She then tries to hit the mother-in-law by removing her slipper. She gets up and gives the mother-in-law two slaps on the cheek when she fails. The mother-in-law then holds her head.

The daughter-in-law becomes enraged once more as the mother-in-law finally begins to moan loudly. The video recording then stops.

Rising water levels in the Sutlej River have created a dangerous situation with worries about the river embankment (Dhussi Bundh), putting residents of Sasrali hamlet in the Sahnewal Tehsil of Ludhiana on high alert.

Dangerous River Situations
Water levels have significantly increased as a result of the Sutlej swelling due to ongoing rainfall and dam releases. The primary earthen embankment defending the village, the Dhussi Bundh, is under tremendous strain as a result of this. The river has been aggressively destroying land in Sasrali and has, in some locations, approached the protective barrier dangerously.

Impact and Damage
Large tracts of farmland in Sasrali and nearby villages have already been flooded by the swelling floodwaters. Farmers in the area have suffered large financial losses as a result of the considerable harm this has done to crops, especially paddy and poplar trees.

Official Reaction and Relief Activities
The district government has responded to the situation in a number of ways:

Embankment Reinforcement: To fortify the Dhussi Bundh, teams are working nonstop. To strengthen weak spots and stop a breach, they are bringing in big stones and sandbags from Ropar and Himachal Pradesh.

Loss evaluation: In order to compensate the impacted farmers, officials have started a special evaluation (girdawari) to determine the degree of crop loss.

Continuous Monitoring: To keep an eye on the situation around the clock, multi-departmental teams have been sent in. Villagers and civil defense personnel are also actively supporting the efforts at reinforcing and monitoring.

Public Advisory: The government has urged citizens to maintain composure, not fall for rumors, and be vigilant. Additionally, they have set up flood control rooms in every subdivision.

The water eroding the ground has made locals worried and afraid of a possible calamity, despite officials’ claims that the situation is now under control and the embankment is standing firm.

In Punjab’s flood-affected districts, rescue efforts have been in progress since the morning.

Seven districts in Punjab are impacted by flooding as a result of the constant rain and water released from dams. Three persons are dead, and four are missing due to the powerful river current. Areas like Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Firozpur, and Fazilka are the most severely impacted. Here, the floods have impacted over 150 settlements. The water is 5 to 7 feet deep in numerous places. In Firozpur, more than two thousand individuals have been saved and relocated to relief camps. Relief and rescue efforts are carried out by the army, police, NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), and other organizations. Rescue efforts are underway on the ground and in the air in regions hit by flooding.

Breaking News: Present Circumstances at Daburi’s Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya:

Pupils and Staff Trapped: The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Daburi hamlet is home to over 400 pupils and 40 staff members, including the principal.

Cause of Flooding: The Ravi River has burst its banks due to constant rainfall. The school grounds were submerged when floodwaters advanced several km inland due to an embankment breach.

Water Level: According to reports, 4 to 5 feet of water have flooded the school’s campus.

Safety precautions: In order to protect the pupils, many of whom are boarders, they have been relocated to the upper levels of the school building. For those inside, food and water have been provided.

Rescue Operation: Teams from the Indian Army and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been sent in to assist with disaster management and district administration. The principal of the school has said that boats are desperately needed to effectively remove the people who are trapped, and rescue attempts are still underway.

Controversy: Because of the expected flood situation, the Punjab government proclaimed holidays for all schools in the state from August 27 to 30, yet the school apparently remained open, causing substantial public resentment and raising concerns about administrative ineptitude.

Greater Risk of Flooding in Punjab and Gurdaspur:

Widespread Flooding: The Ravi and Beas rivers are causing flooding in seven districts of Punjab, including Gurdaspur.

River and Dam Levels: Major dams such as Bhakra, Pong, and Ranjit Sagar have seen their water levels rise to dangerously high levels; Pong Dam is said to have overflowed its maximum capacity. This has made it necessary to discharge extra water, which is making the downstream flood situation worse.

Impact on Villages: A number of Gurdaspur villages have been submerged, including Pamma, Kohliyan, and portions of Makora Pattan.

Significant infrastructure damage has resulted from the floods, including the closure of the Pathankot-Jammu national highway and the suspension of rail service in certain locations because of soil erosion and bridge damage.

Government Reaction: In addition to deploying the Army, BSF, and NDRF for rescue and relief efforts, the Punjab government established a flood control committee. The impacted areas will be visited by the Chief Minister.
