Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Saturday laid the foundation stone for Punjab’s first state-of-the-art indoor volleyball hall and a government synthetic tennis court at SCD Government College, Ludhiana, marking a significant step toward fostering sports and developing talent in the region.

Mr. Sanjeev Arora and Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain commended the efforts made to make these projects a reality and guarantee prompt advancement of Ludhiana’s sports infrastructure development.

According to Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, the ₹3.6 crore Indoor Volleyball Hall will be Punjab’s first indoor volleyball facility. Players’ preparation and performance were negatively influenced by the intense heat, rain, and cold they had to endure while practicing and competing outside. Ludhiana’s volleyball players will be able to compete at a greater level thanks to this new arena, which will offer international-standard training conditions because volleyball is specifically an indoor sport at the Olympic level.

Furthermore, ₹77 lakh has been approved for the construction of the district’s first government synthetic court. Tennis players’ long-standing demand has now been satisfied, guaranteeing year-round, top-notch sports training that will immediately improve performance in national and international competitions.

Chanarthal Kalan has celebrated the Dussehra holiday for 164 years, which is a record in and of itself, according to local MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai. Additionally, he emphasised the village’s development efforts led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann:

A pilot project for outlets (moghas) costing ₹1.5 crore was started.

A library is being constructed.

₹34 lakh is being spent on the village playground.

He commended the Panchayat and residents for their efforts to revive Punjabi culture and encouraged the Kabaddi players.

Participants were Chanarthal Kalan, the chairman of the market committee; AAP District President Ajay Singh Libra; and the chairman of the district planning committee. Many locals and sports fans were in attendance, including Block President Mandeep Pola, Rashpinder Singh Raja, Sarpanch Rajdeep Singh Raju, and Malkit Singh Tiwana.

MLA Kulwant Singh Honors Wrestlers at Wrestling Tournament in Village Gigemajra

The Aam Aadmi Party government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fostering a positive sports atmosphere that is assisting the state’s young in escaping the drug problem. Sports fields are increasingly the focus of young people’s attention.

In an interview with media, MLA SAS Nagar S. Kulwant Singh stated these opinions. He had come to pay tribute to the wrestlers at the Baba Gosain Wala Wrestling Tournament, which was held in the village of Gigemajra (Mohali).

MLA Kulwant Singh claimed that other local athletes and sports fans find inspiration in this wrestling competition, which was put on with the help of Sarpanch Satnam Singh, the entire Nagar Panchayat, and the local populace. In addition to giving the athletes the equipment they need, he said, social groups, village panchayats, and sports organisations should be commended for offering them chances. Pritpal Phagwara and Sikandar Sheikh engaged in a tough battle for the Rs 5 lakh main prize at the wrestling event held in the village of Gigemajra, with Sikandar Sheikh emerging victorious.
